Kerry Coombs

Coombs is out at UC. Maybe Xavier should approach him and ask him to help start non-scholarship football. His love of the game is legendary and he wouldn?t have to worry about NIL money. At his age, he is probably well set financially and it could fill any desire to stay in football while being relatively low stress.

Just a thought?

The dwindling population of eligible students and declining enrollments is a reality. Breaking ground on the med school was nice. Stetson University revived its football program in 2013 having been dormant since 1956. They play in  a municipal stadium that they played in during its previous run of football. The stadium, a nice venue of 6000 seats, hosts not only hosts the Hatters but also Deland High School.

The stadium isn?t on the Stetson campus. The insistence on an immediate on-campus facility at Xavier baffles me. With local stadiums available (Roger Bacon, Withrow, Walnut Hills and even St. X), why not try PFL football without a commitment to an on-campus facility? See if it works to increase enrollment and gain fan support. Just a thought.
