Title: Forum Restore
Post by: Bruce on December 31, 2006, 07:16:32 PM
My web host had some problems over the last few days that required a complete restore of the server operating system and the files and databases on the server.  Unfortunately, the most recent backup was also corrupt.  The most current good backup was dated December 18.  That means any posts you made after that date are gone.  I know I made two regarding articles in the XU alumni magazine about the football program's return.  I'll be tracking down the links to them and reposting.  Sorry about this.

Thanks, Bruce.

As the quasi Web-meister at my own job (also at a university), I think I have a fairly good idea of how much work and time were demanded of you in restoring these pages...   Please know that it is appreciated...

BTW, got to see "We Are Marshall" over the Christmas break.  Well worth the money.  Nice to see the old XU uniforms, and to hear Matthew McC's Coach Lengyel soliloquize about the importance of simply having a program and being on the field ...

Will look forward to hearing more in the spring about new fundraising efforts for the Club, etc...

For now, back to some Bowl games !

Wish I could take credit for some of the work, but the web host company did it all.  I am going to start running my own backups separate from theirs, in case this happens again.

I know next to nothing about web-sites so whoever does what is always appreciated. Saw the Marshall movie. Nicely done. Matthew McConeaughy did a great job. Didn't like the ending (the XU loss) but I remeber the game so it was anticipated. Maybe this can be a metaphor of sorts for Xavier football return....some young, enthusiastic kids putting their hearts and souls into resurrecting a program.
