Title: Club Football Reunion
Post by: nickgyp on September 21, 2017, 07:25:54 PM
On Facebook there is a post about a 10 year reunion of the 2007 team which beat Miami in Oxford and won the Midwestern Club Football Conference. Dang I miss those days and recall how I had hoped that in a few years maybe X would be playing in the PFL. Again, what if? But that Miami game video on You Tube has some really nice highlights. Congrats on the anniversary to Coach Powers and team!!

Attended the reunion! Great time with Coaches Powers, Carty and Voline. Dang, some of those guys look like they could still play. Chris Greenwood hasn't aged a bit; Dan Piening and Brendan Banker looked good as did Matt Dooley, Lewis Carney, Andrew Bodziony, Danny Deters, Jon Deters, Mike Morris and others. Greta seeing everybody. But no one was interested in taking graduate courses and playing again. Dang!

I enjoy looking at the forum to check for news like the Miami story. I see this thread has had 190 or so views so this must be a passing interest because I sure as hell haven't looked at this thread that often. And I doubt if it was Bruce. If any viewers would like to leave a message or two as to any thoughts then I would appreciate any words. Just because the club football door is closed now it could always be re-opened. The door was closed from 1973 to 2006; and the current drought doesn't approach that number of years.

We can always hope for better times, Nick. I believe the club will open doors once again sooner or later. What do you think?

Well when I see stories like that about Dave Cecchini I keep on hoping. Villanova and Butler have football and outstanding BB as well so why not dream. I will fan the flames.
