The Apprentice School
« on: February 25, 2018, 11:05:17 AM »
NCFA announced that it has a new team joining the Club Football association called The Apprentice School. I thought I had read about this school somewhere and, sure enough, it is a school in Newport News, Virginia that involves ship building. That is right. Ship building. Not only that but it has a team that won team two games in 2017 against other schools. At any rate, the team photo features some 60-70 players. It appears that the 2017 schedule was against actial small schools with football teams. Recalling Xavier's shellacking when D-III Notre Dame College came down from Cleveland to play the Muskie clubbers at Roger Bacon and small college Midwest Ohio's rout of the XU clubbers at Stargell Stadium in the West End; I am not so sure that the Builders (yes, The Apprentice School's nickname) are not a bit too much for the club level. But what do I know?
