Georgetown at Holy Cross
« on: November 23, 2019, 03:00:54 PM »
Sunny day in Massachusetts as the Hoyas visited Holy Cross for an afternoon game. Watched a bit on Channel 12.3 in Cincinnati. I recall days when Holy Cross was always mentioned on the Prudential College scoreboard. Xavier would also be mentioned, At the time, Holy Cross was an independent like Xavier. Today, both Holy Cross and Georgetown are in the Patriot League. I'd have to do some checking but pretty sure Georgetown was a club team before going known scholarship. For some reason, I think Holy Cross is scholarship still. HC's stadium would remind you a bit like Xavier's old stadium. Gets me wistful but still wondering how these schools afford it although the Hoyas probably have a fair bit in endowment cash available. What I would give for a Muskie football game on Victory Parkway.

I agree, but I don’t think we’ll ever again see football on Victory Parkway.
