Started as a club team in 2024, now opens as a full team in 2025 with over 100 players per Jon Gruden:

Bruce,

It seems that you and me are the only posters. I wish it were more but I do like to see the number of views that the posts get (I know I am not viewing my own posts and assume you are repeatedly visiting the posts). Sometimes I wonder why I keep revisiting Xavier football. It isn't an obsession but it is a fond hope.

I looked to yesterday to check on the National Club Football Association as the 2025 season. Some 14 teams are scheduled to play including Sothern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE). This surprised me as SIUE had a team when Xavier fielded a club team but it apparently has been dormant for some time. I looked at SIUE's club sports site and tryouts are scheduled for next week. I hope they succeed in getting things going. One wonders if the prospect of actually moving up to a real program (like Roanoke did) would increase chances of success. The fact that Roanoke has so many players in short order is intriguing.
